Supercharged power demands serious oiling, but packaging everything neatly, especially an external dry sump pump with a ProCharger, often turns into a custom fabrication battle. Peterson Fluid Systems is stepping in to help engine builders win that fight, recently launching a new mounting kit specifically designed for clean integration with ProCharger’s CrankDrive system. Peterson calls this new lineup their ProCharger Ready family of R4 Oil Pumps, with V-Band Mount. The whole idea is a slick way to bolt Peterson’s popular R4 oil pumps right onto a ProCharger CrankDrive accessory drive system. This approach keeps the pump installation tidy and secure, a big plus in often-crowded high-performance engine bays.
Peterson makes these mounting systems in their USA facility from tough 6061-T6 billet aluminum, so they’re light but strong enough for demanding applications. The kit is designed to work with both 3/8-inch hex and 5/8-inch round style ProCharger CrankDrive accessories. They also fit Peterson’s standard and reverse rotation R4 oil pumps that have a front pressure section. For builders planning complex layouts, Peterson also offers Computer-Aided Design (CAD) models of these components upon request to help with the design phase.
A couple of things installers should keep in mind: Peterson mentions that if you’re running one of their larger 6- to 8-stage R4 oil pumps, you might need some additional support depending on the specific setup.
Also, the V-band clamp itself, which secures the pump, isn’t part of the mount kit and must be sourced separately. Critically, the system requires Peterson’s specific V-band mount (P/N: 14-2202) for everything to bolt together correctly. For builders mixing ProCharger boost with the serious oiling capabilities of a Peterson R4 dry-sump pump, this new mounting kit looks like a smart way to simplify a tricky part of the engine build. They offer a solid, American-made billet aluminum solution to get that essential R4 oil pump neatly mounted right onto the accessory drive, helping ensure your engine stays well-oiled when you’re pushing it hard.
