When it comes to small-block Mopars, the 340 is more than legendary, it’s an icon. The small mill powered thousands of factory hot rods in the ‘60s and ‘70s, as well as an untold number of race cars since then. Project LA (L, A, not la as if you’re singing) Thumper will be a modern build that is on the ragged edge of streetability but still able to drive to the track before winning races. Built in a home garage, the series was designed to show how any enthusiast can rebuild their engine at home and achieve great results.
