The popularity of the LS engine platform has companies like Canton Racing Products working to fill the void with race-ready products to keep the power flowing when the gas pedal is mashed.

On display at the 2015 SEMA Show is its new front-sump LS Road Race/Drift oil pan.

“The oil pan features our anti-slosh baffle that is designed to prevent the oil from climbing out of the sump during acceleration,” says Canton’s Mike Zeranski, Jr.

There is also a diamond trap door baffle that keeps the oil flowing towards the pickup during acceleration, deceleration, and cornering, ensuring that the engine’s lifeblood is where it’s supposed to be, when it’s supposed to be.

The pan was developed with increased capacity that serves two purposes: to allow the oil to live a longer life, and also prevent oil pressure loss during hard-charging situations. The pan is coated in Canton’s familiar gold iridite plating to prevent material deterioration.

“We are also showcasing some of our options for setting up a remote filtration system,” he says.

On that note, there is a billet aluminum block that attaches to the factory oil location on the pan and provides AN fittings to allow for the use of braided hose, so that the filter can be placed in a more advantageous location for fitment flexibility.

The company has a mockup on display of a plumbed system that shows how its remote oil cooler, Accusump pre-luber, and billet thermostat can be used to keep the oil at a consistent temperature. There are three different oil coolers available depending on your engine’s requirements.
