For those of you looking for a great oil pan for your 7.3L Power Stroke Diesel or Jeep with a 4.0L engine from 2006 and earlier, look no further because Moroso has you covered. Their new oil pans for these engines are as trick as they get and they will end up saving you time and money in the long run.
“If you look inside the pan, you can see that it has the same kind of trap doors and baffle you see in our Moroso racing pans. The designs that keep oil contained near the pickup in a drag or road race application also work well on steep inclines off-road,” explained Thor Schroeder of Moroso. Also, the rear sump of the oil pan extends out on both sides to hold 1.25 more quarts than the stock oil pan to reduce oil temperature.
With this oil pan, stock depth is maintained and is designed to work with your existing oil pump and pickup tube. Also great for snow (and the nasty stuff used to melt it), their pans are constructed from heavy duty 16 gauge steel with a yellow zinc dichromate finish to resist corrosion.
“Any place that salts the roads, we were seeing the stock pans failing due to rust. Our pan for the 7.3 uses a triple coat finishing process, with a zinc phosphate base layer for corrosion inhibition, a middle powder coat layer, and an outer gloss black epoxy layer to provide much better durability than the stock pan,” stated Schroeder.
“These pans came from the factory sealed with RTV silicone. Our patent-pending gasket is the only one of its kind for this application, and it makes life a lot easier for both pros and DIY mechanics. Replacing the pan or fixing a leak is pretty time consuming on these trucks,” Schroeder added.
Moroso’s oil pans for the 7.3L Power Stroke and 4.0L Jeep engines are a great step up from the factory oil pans and are great quality. head on over to their website for some more information on these oil pans!
