Few things say performance parts like the SEMA Show and BorgWarner together. The fans and exhibitors at the 2017 SEMA tradeshow were in for a treat with the new release of the line of turbochargers in the S300 frame division.
For years BorgWarner has been designing turbochargers that let us, enthusiasts, gain horsepower and torque while still maintaining emissions standards. “A couple years ago, our largest inducer size for the S300 frame was a 66-millimeter and it was capable of 800-horsepower,” explains Seth Temple of BorgWarner.
Since then they’ve released the, very popular S369 SXE turbocharger that was capable of 1,000-horsepower. The S369 was a very popular option due to the upgraded wheel and different cover.
“As time went on, we targeted a larger inducer which led us to our release of this S372 SXE that is capable 1,100-horsepower plus,” said Temple.
The SXE turbos are equipped with an upgraded forged milled wheel, a 360-degree thrust bearing, and an upgraded turbine stage which gives more thrust capacity allowing you to push the turbo harder. The turbine wheel is a better version with two to three more points of turbine efficiency, which helps the spool-up times.
