Summit Racing Equipment’s Texas-Sized New Arlington Facility

A hallmark of successful and thriving e-commerce and mail-order businesses in this day and age is satisfying the customers’ need and desire to have their item in-hand in as little time as possible. Gone are the days of a week or more passing by before one’s parts arrive, as two days or less becomes not just the norm, but almost an expectation of consumers.

This fact is far from lost on the team at Summit Racing Equipment, who have and continue to invest significant financial resources into giving their customers the best — and the quickest — possible service by expanding their distribution points around the country.

Founded in Akron, Ohio in 1968 and originally operated out of a spare bedroom, Summit Racing Equipment moved its headquarters to Tallmadge, Ohio in 1992, with the opening of its iconic retail superstore and distribution center. Since that time, Summit has expanded its distribution centers to Sparks, Nevada and McDonough, Georgia. And now, the company is working toward the opening of its largest expansion to date.

Partially completed and slated to open later this year, Summit’s newest facility in Arlington, Texas will top 700,000 square feet and will include a large 32,000 square foot retail superstore — also the largest of the four retail operations.IMG_3856

“Summit Racing is committed to providing our customers with the best possible service, and that includes fast shipping and delivery,” explained Nan Gelhard, Summit Racing Advertising Manager. “With the addition of our Texas facility, we will have four Distribution Centers. We will be able to deliver parts to more customers in the continental U.S. in just one to two days.”

While intended as a retail destination for automotive enthusiasts in the region, the Arlington facility will ultimately allow Summit to deliver products to most of the continental United States in two days or less. With its retail store, consumers will be able to view parts in-person and speak directly with technical advisors; and, as is commonplace with big-box retail stores today, local customers will be able to order their items online and pick them up in-store.

Summit’s new Arlington facility is located just off Interstate 20 and State Route 360, between Dallas and Fort Worth and just a short drive from several major sports and family destinations.
