The folks at Diamond Pistons have been building racing parts since 1968, and the well-known company debuted their line of forged racing pistons in the early 1970’s. They spent decades building championship-winning racing engines along with their custom piston line, and since the late 1990’s the company has concentrated its efforts on those forged pistons using the latest in state-of-the-art machinery.
Company owner Bob Fox started working at Diamond manning the tech line in his 20’s and eventually was able to purchase the firm over a decade ago, and in the years since has positioned the company as one of the leaders producing aftermarket custom pistons for both high-level racing and the grassroots racer.
Not only do they have a tremendous selection of off-the-shelf pistons, the company is also able to produce a fully-custom design patterned after your very own cylinder head’s combustion chamber if there are specifics of your engine combination that the company doesn’t already have on file. In addition, they’ve recently added a billet-piston capability for those applications where a forging isn’t produced, allowing them to manufacture the ultimate in true custom piston design.
The company manufactures pistons from either 2618 and 4032 alloy depending on application, and their tech staff is well-versed in providing the engineering resources to ensure you get the right product the first time that will achieve your goals. In addition, proprietary hard anodized coatings are available on both pistons and pins for those of you who are building high-horsepower power-adder and naturally-aspirated engines.
Diamond Pistons are inside the Pro Stock-winning championship engines of Greg Anderson and Jason Line, and Jon Kaase uses them exclusively in all of his Boss Nine engines. It they are good enough for the pros, aren’t they good enough for you?
