Koul Tools Makes Assembling Barb Fittings EZier Than Ever

We all know Koul Tools for their awesome namesake — the clamshell assembly tools that make assembling AN fittings onto stainless braided hose an easy, poke-free affair. We’ve also shown you their line of tools to address damaged male and female flare fittings, saving you from having to replace expensive fittings prematurely. However, their new monster EZ-ON Hose Press highlights another series of tools that we haven’t discussed much.

The new EZ-ON Hose Press, model 223 is designed to install 2.0- to 3.0-inch-diameter barb fittings into the associated lines. You simply install the fitting onto the expanding mandrel, clamp the hose into the sled, grease up the fitting, and then use a power drill on the Acme-threaded leadscrew to press the fitting into the hose for a secure fit with a minimal amount of grunting and swearing.

Now, we realize that most of you reading this probably don’t have any two or three-inch hose lying around in need of fittings. But, Koul Tools does have four other models of the EZ-ON hose press for lines you will find on your engines. Built with the same precision craftsmanship and high-end materials as the new model, the EZ-ON Hose Press, Model 426, will work with hose sizes ranging from 1/4-inch inner diameter to 1.0-inch I.D.

If you’re looking for a more heavy-duty solution for 1/4-inch to 1.0-inch hose, the model 427 replaces the aluminum parts of the 426 with stainless steel for increased durability and longevity. Now, if you need to go up to something larger, there is the model 454, which uses the same systems, just scaled up for 1.0-inch to 2.0-inch-diameter hoses.

Also, if you are thinking of the smaller EZ-ON press specifically for 5/16- or 3/8-inch fuel lines, Koul Tools offers the Nylon Fuel Line Tool. Specifically designed to assemble push-lock and nylon fuel lines and fittings, it is a specialized kit designed to integrate with the Model 426. If you already have a Model 426, the kit is available as a standalone upgrade, or is available as an all in one kit, with a Model 426 Hose Press as well.
