SEMA 2022: Specialized Performance With Ross Racing Pistons

The folks at Ross Racing Pistons have been designing and manufacturing custom piston applications for over 40 years. The company offers durable, forged pistons built to exact customer specifications and provides the most reliable pistons for a broad spectrum of common engine combinations. Whether you compete on the water or the track or are looking for improved street performance, Ross Racing Pistons can supply the best set of pistons your engine will ever need.

While walking the halls of SEMA, we stopped by the Ross Racing Pistons booth and visited with Chris Madsen, general manager of Ross. One of the hallmarks of Ross is the ability to custom-tailor a set of pistons for a customer’s specific needs. That is why they are one of the major suppliers of pistons to some of the fastest racers in the world. Ross also carries a broad line of off-the-shelf pistons for a wide variety of engine combinations. No matter who manufactured your engine, Ross Racing Pistons can make it better.

Ross Racing Pistons

Ross Racing Pistons has made a name for itself in providing high-quality custom pistons for customers. If they don’t currently have a piston for your application, they can make it!

While Ross supplies many class racers with pistons that power them directly to the winner’s circle, we also spoke with Chris about Ross’ involvement in the performance street market. “GM’s LS engine is still a big market for us,” Chris explains. “We’re continuing to create products designed to keep our LS-based customers at the forefront of technology and performance.”

If it isn’t already available through their on-the-shelf offerings, you can contact Ross and have a set built to your specifications through its Custom Piston Service. All Ross custom pistons feature fitted pins at no extra charge, lock removal indents, an accumulator groove, and forced pin oilers when applicable. Gas porting is also available as an option.

Pistons can be ordered with a variety of options, such as various coatings, gas ports, or any length of connecting rod.

Chris also informed us the Gen-II Hemi engine is also a large market for them, and they are looking forward to offering products for the Godzilla 7.3 engine as well. Keeping abreast of technological enhancements in piston design is one of the key benefits of partnering with Ross Racing Pistons when building your next engine. Chris informed us they are currently updating the Ross Racing Pistons catalog to include its newest offerings. Go to their website and search for your specific application. If they don’t have it on the shelf, they can make it.
