The 2019 SEMA Show is underway, and all of the diesel companies here are making statements with new products. In that list is WISECO/ Trend Performance. Trend is a known industry leader of valvetrain components, and they’ve pushed the limit yet again, with its latest released here at the show. Introducing the one-piece pushrod for diesel engines.
We talked with the Trend valvetrain expert and Sales Manager, Steve Rhodey, to get the scoop. “We wanted to help everyone we can, so we do offer heavy-duty pushrods for every application: stages one through three, and stage three is the new high-strength, one-piece forged unit,” said Rhodey. “The advantage? They’re one-piece. With this pushrod being a one-piece design, it inevitably offers more strength and durability, which is crucial in a high-horsepower application.”
Trend Performance is the only company at this time making a solid one-piece pushrod. The pushrod’s cup has a smaller inside diameter than the actual pushrod. Shown here is a 24-valve Cummins pushrod, and as you can see, it’s enormous size is going to offer much greater strength than factory. Traditionally, the pushrod cups are press-fit, and that seam where they meet becomes a weak point. With the solid unit, you’re safe at high-stress levels.
The pushrods in stages one through three come in stock length and even custom lengths if you wish. We’re looking forward to the industry taking off with these solid pushrods and seeing how everyone likes them in their winter builds.
