SEMA 2019: Snow Performance High-Boost Meth-Injection

SEMA 2019: Snow Performance High-Boost Meth-Injection

Supercharging has become a viable way to achieve incredible performance without sacrificing economy or drivability. As is usually the case, if a little bit is good, then more must be better! With that in mind, the phenomenal performance we have been enjoying is thanks to parts and components specifically designed to handle the additional boost needed. Once you’ve created a reliable package using higher boost levels, you typically find the need to be able to supply all that performance potential.

Snow Performance’s methanol-injection systems allow boosted applications to safely operate at higher boost levels than possible without some form of additional cooling. As boost levels increase, so does the need for a higher-performing methanol injection system.

Its new High-Boost Water-Methanol Injection System addresses the issue of overcoming the additional internal pressures of high-boosted applications to introduce the life-saving benefits of methanol injection. Powered by a high-pressure nitrous system instead of a pump, the High-Boost Water-Methanol Injection System uses a regulator to adjust the system’s pressure between 50 and 400 psi.

Ryan Lewis, marketing director for Snow Performance, spoke with us in their booth at SEMA and explained some of the benefits of this new option for enthusiasts. “This new system is specifically designed for high-boost applications,” he said. “Unlike conventional methanol systems, this system can overcome up to 100 psi of boost!”

Due to the higher pressure, atomization is improved, and the system’s regulator is fully adjustable. Ryan even shared that some of the more extreme diesel users are running their system without a regulator, which allows system pressure up to 1,000 psi! Definitely an excessive application, though!
