PRI 2021: New LT Shaft Mount Rocker Arm System for Edelbrock Heads

At the PRI Show, you can find an abundance of companies doing their best to help make more horsepower safely and more efficiently. Manton Pushrods is one of those manufactures that really have found an edge and know exactly what their purpose is. They have recently developed a new LT shaft mount rocker arm system for Edelbrock cylinder heads.

Manton Pushrods has been building custom hand crafted pushrods for all engine types since 1995. Known for their versatility in engineering, design and manufacturing, Trevor Manton sounded like an encyclopedia of knowledge when he shared about their latest development.

“The new LT Shaft Mount Rocker Arm System is being used on the Edelbrock Heads. Essentially customers are making so much power that the factory fastener location in the pedestal is not able to handle the cylinder pressure that is being created. So we made a heat treated 4340 body with a heat treated 4340 bar to act like a large cylinder head girdle.”

The rocker arm is pressure fed from the push rod oil and it force feeds the oil into the amco 45 bushing which acts like the oil restriction device for the engine. So we are metering the oil volume to the top end while restricting the bleed off to keep more hydraulic pressure in the lifter body, so the lifter body does not bleed off when we are making big power.”

Manton Pushrods LT Shaft Mount Rocker Arm Are Well Crafted Using Superior Materials

“We use all tool steel hardware, tool steel roller, tool steel shaft, and tool steel adjusting screws as well. We have been able to use a top fuel proven roller and pin that is guaranteed to handle up to 1,500 horsepower per cylinder. Then we use the same materials and heat treatment that we use in our top fuel systems.”

“The pushrod fulcrum has been corrected. We have reduced the movement of the pushrod while incorporating a ball style adjusting screw. So we can center the column load up through the pushrod, and we have been able to accomodate a drop-in 7/16-inch to 3/16-inch sized pushrod with no work.”
