QA1 is one of the largest names in the suspension side of the aftermarket industry. One of the reasons for this is their extremely large product base including a multitude of parts for circle track racing, drag racing, street performance, and more. We stopped by QA1’s booth at this year’s PRI show to get the details on some of their new products.
Some of you may have already heard about their popular carbon fiber driveshafts, but Damien Brase from QA1 tells us about their newest application. “We’ve had the 1310 and 1350 series for a couple years now, but now we have some new offerings for the 2005-16 Mustangs coming out. [They’re] direct bolt-in and are rated up to 1,500 horsepower / 1,200 torque.”
They also have a new k-member coming out, which will be available for popular Mustang and Mopar A, B, and E-body platforms. “Our current design was designed for drag racing about 20 years ago, so we designed our own 15-inch wheels and it moves the wheelbase forward, so it causes fitment issues for guys with street cars that want to run larger wheels and tires,” said Damien. “This new one keeps the wheels in the exact factory location, doesn’t change track width, doesn’t change the wheelbase, has interchangeable engine mounts, adjustable rack height location– we use this same setup for the fox and the SN95.” The completely new design has a stealthy black powdercoated finish and is extremely easy to install.
In addition to their new Mustang parts, QA1 is releasing full suspension, handling, and drag kits for the ’68-’79 X-body Nova, ’69-’72 Grand Prix, ’70-’72 Monte Carlo, and ’73-’77 GM A-body.
