PRW is reviving its line of dampers, offering three stages of performance for street enthusiasts and racers.
The entry level Sportsman models are made from nodular iron and available for popular Ford and Chevy applications in both external and internal balanced versions. The Sportsman line is not SFI certified but PRW says the units are good for up to 6,000 rpm. They come in black or chrome finish, and PRW says are 30 percent stronger than OEM dampers made from grey iron.
PRW offers three different styles of damper, including a race-oriented FluidGel model.
Next is an SFI-rated damper with steel and elastomer construction. It features laser-engraved timing marks and is available in black epoxy or polished with clear coat. The application chart expands to cover small- and big-block engines from Chevy and Ford along with popular models from Mopar, Oldsmobile and Pontiac.
Finally, PRW offers an SFI-rated racing FluidGel damper constructed with an internal steel inertia ring surrounded with high-viscosity silicone gel.
“All of our balancers that are externally balanced feature removable counterweights for those who want to rebuild with an internal balance,” says PRW’s Scott Stutler.
Electric water pump choices include billet and cast aluminum models.
PRW is also showing off two new electric water pumps, one with a billet aluminum base and the other with a cast aluminum base. The billet model is rated at 50 gpm while the cast version comes in at 35 gpm.
“Both have a universal housing design, then we provide legs unique to the engine application,” says PRW’s Bill McGloghlon.
The pumps are designed to clear most timing-belt drives but spacers may be required for belt-drive distributors. The pumps are available for Ford and Chevy small- and big-blocks.
