WINNING: Dyno Testing A 3,000 HP Twin-Turbo BBC….For A Bentley

We have to think when estranged actor Charlie Sheen went full-tilt crazy a couple of years ago and in the process coined the now-famous phrase ‘WINNING!,” he very likely had visions of things like owning a 3,000 horsepower Bentley in mind. Because it’s simply not enough to own of the most expensive luxury cars in the world — it must also border on being one of the quickest street cars in the world, too.

sm1That being the case, then someone out there is certainly WINNING, because such a vehicle does — or is about to — really exist.

Engine building ninja Steve Morris recently revealed one of the latest and most impressive projects to go through his shop, in the form of a 615 cubic inch big block Chevrolet pumped full of boost by a pair of 88mm turbochargers, which is destined for a luxury, street-driven Bentley located in the United Kingdom. According to Morris, its owner has plans to compete at Drag Week with the car, sporting the engine combination that is very much like the Morris-built piece that powered Tom Bailey to victory in record time last year.

Atop this bullet is a new billet intake manifold that was developed in-house by Morris and his team, with the entire build centered around a Brodix aftermarket block, featuring Brodix heads to match, along with a complete Jesel valvetrain, a Morris-specced piston and ring package, and Oliver rods. A coil-on-plug Motec EFI setup handles the fuel delivery to this monster, being fed the VP Racing Fuels C16 (will later be tested on E85) by Moran 275 lb/hr. injectors via a Waterman pump.

A pair of Bullseye Power 88mm turbos deliver the boost through five-inch piping, with Turbosmart waste gates and blowoff valves plumbed in.

During the dyno pull, the big block pulls a peak of 3,082 horsepower at 6900 RPM and 32.26 pounds of boost, and with a little more oomph, cranks out 3,045 horses at a slightly lower 30.3 pounds at 7700 RPM. Needless to say, as badass as a Bentley is to begin with, there’s never been a Bentley quite like this one.
