King Introduces Race Bearings for Can-Am Maverick X3 Engines

It only stands to reason that if you are opening up the most powerful factory side-by-side engine on the market, you probably aren’t satisfied with “stock.” The engineers at King Engine Bearings feel the same way, and have developed a set of performance engine bearings for the Rotax ACE Turbo RR engine powering the Can-Am Maverick X3.

Using bearing technology from King’s significant high-performance engine experience, the engineers chose the company’s XPC material, which is the popular XP bearing material, redesigned specifically for high loads. The bearings are then coated with King’s pMaxKote polymer bearing coating to improve the embeddability of dust and small particles of material as well as offering improved seizure resistance.

The new Can-Am Maverick X3 bearings use King Engine Bearings’ high-performance XPC bearing material designed for high loads, and are coated in the company’s pMaxKote polymer coating to improve the bearings’ embeddability in an off-road environment.

This application marks the first of many off-road powersports engine bearing kits to come from the company, thanks to customer feedback received over the last year. “Last SEMA we got many requests to produce bearings for Can-Am,” says King’s VP of Sales Limor Karpatkin. “I am glad we are able to introduce main and con-rod bearings for this challenging engine in less than a year.”

At 200 horsepower, the Rotax 900cc three-cylinder Turbo RR engine is turbocharged and intercooled to make for the most powerful factory engine in the side-by-side space. The XPC bearings are being offered for both main bearing and connecting rod bearing applications and are currently available.
