PRW is expanding its popular PQx aluminum shaft-mount rocker system to the LS platform.

“With all the new cylinder heads coming on the market and different types of springs available, you need a rocker that can handle the higher spring pressures,” suggests PRW president Bill McGloghlon.

PQx shaft-mount rockers from PRW are available for LS1, LS2 and LS6 engines. Models fitting the LS3-style heads are coming.

Standing for “Performance Quotient,” the PQx line of rockers is made from 6061-T6 or Series 7000 2024 alloy extrusions. Each rocker body is relieved for extra valve-spring clearance and anodized for extra strength.

“Right now we have only cathedral-port part numbers,” says McGloghlon. “We’re working on the LS3 now.”

PRW offers the new PQx shaft-mount rockers for the LS in 1.7:1 and 1.8:1 ratios. The PQx line is also available for small- and big-block Chevys and small-block Fords in popular ratios.

The PQx rockers are rated to 750 pounds open pressure, feature internal oiling and come with CNC-machined billet steel pedestals and ground steel rocker shafts. Each rocker is fitted with precision needle bearings. Kits include all necessary hardware.

PRW is also offering fabricated valve covers for the LS platform in addition to LS valve-cover risers.

PRW also showed off new PQx LS series valve covers. These fabricated aluminum covers are available in a variety of finishes, satin silver, satin black and polished with clear anodizing. Besides construction with extra height, they feature machined cutout rails to clear racing-style rocker arms. And if you want to use stock rocker covers, PRW offers LS valve-cover risers in three thicknesses: 1/2-, 3/4- and 1-inch.

“They’re also pre-machined to clear larger rockers,” adds McGloghlon. “You can use stock valve covers and not have to remove any of the emissions baffles from inside.”
