Chevrolet’s LS-based V8 has taken the hearts of performance junkies by storm. It has become the envy of engine-swap enthusiasts and found its way in every mode of transportation on land, sea, or air. With over 50 years of manufacturing experience in Redondo Beach, California, SCAT Crankshafts proudly produces a variety of crankshafts to bulletproof the LS engine’s bottom-end.

SCAT Crankshafts has introduced their line of LS S-Series crankshafts, which are a competitively-priced alternative for those looking for cost-effective ways to increase their LS engine’s performance and reliability without breaking the bank. The LS S-Series crankshaft is a solid, competitively priced, competition-level crankshaft designed to fit within any budget. If you’ve ever wondered what it takes to manufacture some of the finest components for your engine’s rotating assembly, check out this cool video from SCAT.

While engineered to be lighter on the wallet, SCAT’s LS S-Series crankshafts are heavy on benefits. Each LS S-Series crankshaft features lightening holes in all rod journals and straight-shot and chamfered oil holes for better lubrication. All throws are lightened to keep rotating mass to a minimum and all mains are gun-drilled, reducing even more mass, but also allowing for better breathing between cavities within the block. All journals are machined to a large radius at the fillet, which helps eliminate stress in this area, but also requires a bearing designed for this performance-adding feature.

SCAT’s LS S-Series crankshafts are rough-balanced to 1,800 grams and can be had in a variety of reluctor wheel selections. SCAT offers its LS S-Series crankshafts with either 24- or 58-tooth reluctor wheels or no reluctor wheel at all for either its 3.622- or 4-inch stroke versions.
