As part of SEMA, the Motorsports Parts Manufacturers Council (MPMC) is one of the aftermarket’s backbones for addressing industry-specific issues and preserving and promoting the motorsports parts industry. The council will be hosting a number of events at PRI next week, so make time in your calendar to attend any or all that interest you.
On Wednesday, December 9, in Room 243 from 11:00AM to 1:00PM, MPMC will be holding their 2015 Open Membership Meeting. The latest developments from the MPMC council will be discussed, and the opportunity for members to share industry issues, challenges, and solutions with fellow motorsports parts manufacturers will exist. They’ll also feed a complimentary boxed lunch. The meeting is open to all exhibitors at PRI, regardless of whether the exhibitor in question is a member of the MPMC.
Thursday, December 10 from 2:00 — 4:00PM will be Education Day — nine manufacturers will present product seminars to attendees in a showcase of their latest products.
On Friday, December 11 in Room 241 at 2:00PM, the 2015 MPMC Seminar will be a followup to last year’s popular discussion on rules and regulations of the road when towing a rig to a trade show, swap meet, or race. There are numerous state and federal regulations that apply to this and distinguish between a hobby and a taxable, fee-paying business. Special guests include John DiBartolomeo of Xceleration Media, Kip Rhoton of KJR Motorsports, and Jim Hughes of Tucson Dragway.
Also on Friday, December 11, the MPMC Hall of Fame Industry Reception will take place in Room 208-209 from 5:00 — 7:00PM. This year’s inductees are Ron Johnson and Dick Berggren. Hors d’ouevres and drinks will be offered.
