More Than Oil Pans – Canton’s Other Fabricated Aluminum Reservoirs

When you hear the name Canton Racing Products, one of two things probably pops into your head: oil pans or the Accusump oil accumulator. However, Canton also makes a full line of engine-coolant and power-steering reservoirs for both universal and direct-fit applications.

Aiming to serve both the high-performance as well as the show markets, Canton’s line of fluid tanks look as good as they perform. Their line of coolant tanks spans a wide variety of OEM and aftermarket supercharged applications, while their power steering reservoir line is still growing for performance vehicles.

Coolant Tanks

On the coolant side, whether you’re fabbing-up some custom expansion and recovery setup like this custom racecar setup we featured a while back, or just looking to improve the underhood appearance and/or replace an aging, possibly cracking OEM reservoir, Canton has tanks to suit your application.

In addition to the polished aluminum finishes traditionally found on Canton’s tanks, most tanks are also available with a black wrinkle-finish powdercoat, as seen on this supercharger coolant tank.

Fabricated from .100-inch-thick sheet aluminum, much like their aluminum oil pans, both the direct-fit and universal coolant tanks have features like fluid-level sight gauges, drain petcocks, vented or non-vented caps and fittings for use as a catch tank or recovery tanks. The lightweight aluminum pieces are stronger than the OEM parts they replace, not to mention that they look amazing.

If you happen to have a supercharged Ford fitted with an air-to-water intercooler, then Canton manufacturer’s a replacement supercharger coolant tank. Featuring increased strength over its plastic counterparts, a number of the fabricated reservoirs also feature an upgraded large-opening lid to allow ice to be packed into the reservoir prior to a dragstrip pass, to maximize cooling and minimize inlet air temperatures.

Power Steering Tanks

Also in Canton’s repertoire are fabricated power steering fluid reservoirs. Like the coolant tanks, they are available in both black wrinkle powdercoated or polished aluminum finishes. The Canton fabricated pieces add significant strength over the factory pieces as well as a little bit of flash.

Additionally, the Canton fabricated power steering tanks are baffled to diffuse incoming fluid and prevent aeration for positive fluid control. Again, like the coolant tanks, the power steering tanks are available in universal-fit as well. So whether you are trying to improve your OEM engine bay or are fabricating a system from scratch, Canton has something that should work for you.

Canton's fabricated power steering reservoirs are available in both direct-fit (left) and universal (right) applications. In addition to greater strength than the OEM pieces, the Canton tanks are baffled to maintain control of the power steering fluid.
