JE Pistons’ Masters of Motors Awards To Be Presented At SEMA and PRI

If you’ve ever been to the SEMA show in Las Vegas, you’ve probably seen the awards they grant to vendors each year for “Best New Product” and the like. However, there has never been anything specifically geared towards engines… Until now.

JE Pistons has put together a program for 2018 called the Masters of Motors Awards, which will focus on the engines featured at both the SEMA and PRI shows, held in Las Vegas, Nevada, and Indianapolis, Indiana, respectively. It will focus on only engines, and will judge them on the criteria of “Artistry, Uniqueness, and Craftsmanship of Engine Building.”

The panel of all-star judges will include Steve Brule of Westech Performance, Brian Lohnes, Editor-in-Chief of BangShift.com, Mike Kojima, Editor-in-Chief of MotoIQ, along with the David Freiburger of Roadkill. The team will be all over both trade shows to judge the best of the best engines at each show.

Each trade show will have its own set of winners in seven classes: Sport Compact, European, Domestic, Race Engine, Nostalgia, Power Adder, and Fan Favorite. Each of the winners will receive a $1,000 JE Pistons product certificate to be used on any set of JE pistons, rings, or JE Pro Seal gaskets.

If that wasn’t enough, there will be an overall winner declared at each show, which will receive a $2,500 product certificate towards a Dart cylinder block, a $750 certificate towards a crankshaft and connecting rods from K1 Technologies, and a $250 certificate from Trend Performance towards custom pushrods. On top of all that, each overall winner will be receiving an 80-pound billet masterpiece, called the “Engine-uity Trophy”

Any engine present at either of the shows is eligible to win. However, JE has also set up a registration program to ensure that your engine is seen and judged, HERE. The first round of the Masters of Motors competition will take place at the SEMA show. Judging will begin at 9:00am on Tuesday, October 30th, with nominated engines receiving a Masters of Motors Ribbon left on your vehicle, requesting your presence at the awards presentation on Wednesday, October 31st at 11:00am.
