Summit Racing’s display at the 2025 SEMA Show in Las Vegas, Nevada, had a ton of awesome new products. But, potentially the most interesting to us was the lineup of new iron blocks on display. Dubbed “SPC” for “Street, Performance, Competition,” these iron blocks are set to be an affordable alternative to OEM iron blocks, which are rapidly dwindling in supply, and can be of dubious quality.
The small-block Chevy block has been around for a little while now, but joining it as of the SEMA show are standard- and tall-deck big-block Chevys, small-block Ford (8.2-deck Windsor), and, of course, an iron LS block. All of the blocks have the usual aftermarket upgrades, like better main cap hardware and a priority-main oiling system. Additionally, all of the blocks are machined in the USA for Class 35 German cast iron.

Notably, the small-block Ford block has been strengthened significantly over the OEM design, so there’s no worry about splitting a block in half. On the LS side, the block combines the features of Gen III and IV blocks, uses the standard 9.240-inch deck height, has 4.125-inch bores, and comes standard with provisions for six head fasteners per cylinder for increased clamp load. We’ve proven that six stock head bolts can handle insane cylinder pressures, so it’s a very nice upgrade even with factory hardware.
Summit has no preordained horsepower limits; instead, Summit Racing’s Justin Weideman says, “We’re excited to see how much power people can make on these blocks.” All of the blocks come bored .005 inch under final bore, allowing for a perfect hone to fit whatever piston you are using. These blocks are sure to handle anything from a daily driver or street cruiser to an all-out forced-induction build, in a variety of engine flavors.
