Built for high-horsepower applications, Engine Pro’s in-house Sportsman Series flexplates are aimed at big- performance applications but without the big price tag. While a flexplate might look simple on the outside, the amount of engineering that goes into getting everything right is pretty impressive.
The short and sweet is that the Sportsman Series flexplates are designed around meeting the SFI 29.1 standards. That’s achieved with a reinforced centerplate that is 25 percent thicker than any stock centerplate. The thicker centerplate is made from cold-rolled chromoly steel and then has a one-piece forged-steel ring gear, which is double-welded onto the center plate for minimal runout and exceptional strength. Once welded, the flexplate assembly is dynamically balanced for reliable high-RPM, high-horsepower performance.

To complement the Sportsman Series flexplates, Engine Pro has also built its own flexplate bolt kits. A strong, perfectly balanced flexplate is nothing if it moves around under demanding loads. Made from heat-treated 8740 chromoly steel with a 190,000 psi tensile strength, the Engine Pro flexplate bolts have precision-rolled threads. By using immense pressure to form the threads by displacing material, rather than cutting material away to form threads, the bolts have not only more strength but also higher clamp load retention, meaning they won’t come loose.
Engine Pro’s flexplates and bolt kits are aimed at applications that demand reliability under high RPM and serious horsepower levels. To that end, kits are available for 13 different applications, spanning both internally and externally balanced applications as well as offering multiple tooth counts. The application list for the flexplate bolts mirrors the flexplate offering list, ensuring that your high-performance applications will have a quality flexplate securely fastened to the engine.
