SEMA 2012: Edelbrock E-Force Supercharger Systems for SBC

Edelbrock continues to develop exciting new systems for the iconic Chevy small-block Chevy engine platform, introducing a new power adder at the 2012 SEMA Show.

“The Edelbrock E-Force supercharger kit for small-block Chevy engines uses all modern technology, like the Eaton Gen VI 2300 TVS internals, for either fuel-injected or carbureted fuel systems,” says Rob Simons of Edelbrock. “This will give you the traditional look of a big blower coming through your hood with all the modern technology of today.

“These traditional positive-displacement supercharger kits are ideal for street rod and musclecar applications, and the kit includes the supercharger, manifold, drive pulleys, belt, and all of the other necessary items to install it,” he adds.

Along with the new Gen VI Eaton Rotors, the E-Force supercharger incorporates an internal bypass in the unit, resulting in little or no decrease in fuel economy.

“The serpentine belt system comes complete with an automatic tensioner, and is one of the really nice features in this kit,” says Simon. “They are designed to be installed on a factory style front-end-drive pulley system but will not work directly with aftermarket serpentine systems.”

The kit is available with a high-capacity air-to-water intercooler system .

The supercharger also features a self-contained oil system with a relatively maintenance-free interval of 100,000 miles.

The carbureted versions can be purchased with or without carbs, but Simons suggests using the Edelbrock carburetors that are pre-tuned for the supercharger.

“Horsepower and torque performance will vary to each specific application,” stresses Simons.

Available in Edelbrock’s natural satin or highly polished finishes for the ultimate in classic muscle car looks, the superchargers are made in the USA like all Edelbrock products.
