SEMA 2013: Edelbrock Adds New Manifolds, Heads for Hemi, LS & BBC

While Edelbrock made SEMA headlines with its new EFI crate engines and Gen V superchargers, the historic performance company also reached out to traditional engine interests with new cylinder heads and intake manifolds. Here’s just a sample of the numerous new products on display at the show.

The Victor Tunnel Ram for big-block Chevys has been updated from the original 30-year-old design. Built to fit conventional rectangular-port heads, the manifold features 7-inch runners with nearly 5.5 square inches at the plenum. That’s a 25 percent larger cross section than the current Victor Ram 2-R. Both carbureted and EFI versions are available. The dual-quad top has larger openings to accommodate throttle-bore sizes up to 2.31-inch. Carburetors must be mounted sideways, and a throttle-linkage kit is available. Edelbrock also offers fuel rails that will fuel-injected setups.

Also new is the Victor Jr. CNC head for Chrysler 426-572 Hemi engines. This head features CNC combustion chambers and CNC-blended seats for improved airflow. The exhaust valve angle has been revised to allow 2.32-inch intake valves. Intake port volume is 245cc, and brass tubes are installed in the exhaust pushrod holes to allow more clearance without intruding on the port.

Edelbrock didn’t forget the LS engine builder who wants a big 4500-style plenum for both carbureted and EFI applications. The Super Victor LS3 intake is designed for 700-plus horsepower engines running between 3,500 and 7,500 rpm; and they can easily be adapted to nitrous setups. Overall the manifold has 24 percent larger runners than the Victor Jr. It’s available with either a 4500 or 4150 flange, and some models come with fuel-injector bosses.

Finally, Edelbrock is offering select manifolds with pre-assembled direct-port nitrous. These manifolds work with 4150 carbs and include all the plumbing, solenoids and E2 series nozzles. Nitrous bottle or feed lines are not included, but Edelbrock offers a full line of nitrous accessories to complete any installation.
