At PRI 2025, there was a lot of speculation about some companies coming under new ownership and the potentially negative effects of its new association. However, Trick Titanium seemed to be lauded for operating under the Noonan Inc umbrella. The move to Spartanburg, South Carolina, and the integration of Noonan’s billet expertise has allowed Trick Titanium to refine manufacturing processes, producing titanium valves with tighter tolerances, improved finishes, and advanced coatings designed for the high-stress demands of drag racing and other motorsports.
Bill Vinton, director of sales at Trick Titanium, explained that the combination of precision materials and upgraded inspection methods is aimed at providing racers and engine builders with consistent, reliable performance. “We’ve applied what we learned from Noonan to the titanium valve process, refining the product and upgrading inspection and coating methods,” Vinton said. Laser-checked measurements and coatings from Industrial Hard Carbon are now standard, ensuring each valve meets rigorous quality standards.

The valves have found their strongest demand in drag racing, where consistency and reliability are paramount, but Vinton noted that circle track and other high-performance applications are also part of the growing market. The enhancements aim to give engine builders confidence that their components can handle the stress of high RPM and boosted applications without compromise.
While the core material and design remain the same, the move to Noonan’s facilities has elevated quality control and finish standards. For racers and enthusiasts, this translates into parts that are not only engineered for performance but also produced with repeatable precision. The PRI 2025 showcase highlighted the ongoing evolution of racing components and the attention to detail that goes into modern engine parts, demonstrating how aftermarket companies continue to innovate for both high-end racers and performance-minded consumers.
Ultimately, Trick Titanium’s updates show the industry’s focus on refining components that were already strong, taking advantage of improved manufacturing techniques and coatings to better meet the demanding environments of today’s race engines. For builders, it’s a look at how precision engineering is increasingly central to extracting consistent performance on the track.
