Here at the 2025 PRI Show, the fourth engine build in the EngineLabs Giveaway series, presented by Summit Racing, is underway. This year, we’re giving away a 1,000-plus-horsepower big-block Chevrolet engine, which is unlike any of the previous engine combinations. Besides being the largest in displacement by a significant margin at 632 cubic inches, this one will only rely on the atmosphere around it. That’s right, at least 1,000 horsepower without the use of any forced induction.
However, like in years past, we are building it live on the show floor. Nick Bacalis of Bullet Racing Engines machined all the components, hauled them out here to Indianapolis, and will spend Thursday, Friday, and Saturday assembling the engine in front of all of the attendees at the PRI Show. Once the engine is completed on Saturday, it will be driven to the University of Northwestern Ohio‘s testing center to be put on the dyno to see just how much power the engine will make.

Designed to be a wild combination that will easily survive in the four-digit horsepower realm on pump gas, we started with a JLine Performance tall-deck block, added a SCAT Superlight crankshaft, forged H-beam rods with ARP L19 rod bolts, and a set of custom RaceTec forged 2618 pistons. Topping off the combination will be a pair of Edelbrock‘s new DR-17 cylinder heads, ported by Pat Musi, with a Cam Motion camshaft controlling Manton Pushrods, actuating Jesel shaft rockers, which open and close Ferrea Titanium intake valves and Inconel exhaust valves.
An Edelbrock DR-17-specific intake manifold, which has been worked over and converted to EFI by Wilson Manifolds, will house a Holley 4500 four-barrel throttle body and eight 83 lb/hr Holley injectors, run by a Holley EFI Dominator ECU. At the UNOH dyno, the engine will run on ETS Racing Fuels‘ XS Evo 94-octane gasoline while making its power runs.

There is still plenty of time to enter the giveaway, and it’s completely free. Just head to EngineLabsGiveaway.com, or, if you’re going to be at the PRI Show, stop by booth 1105 and see the engine being assembled and scan the QR code at the POWER booth to get yourself entered.
