At the 2025 PRI Show, Ferrea highlighted its new Competition Plus series for Ford’s Godzilla engine, delivering high-performance valvetrain components aimed at turbocharged, nitrous, and high-output applications. We spoke with the team about what makes this line stand out for both enthusiasts and serious builders.
The Competition Plus series includes oversized and standard valves, titanium retainers, valve locks, and beehive valve springs, all designed specifically for the Godzilla platform. Ferrea focused on the high-end stainless-steel components in this series, knowing that most users are pushing 600–1,000+ horsepower. Every valve is micropolished on the face with hard-chrome stems, and they offer both 50-degree and 45-degree seat options to maximize flow and performance.

This line was developed directly from customer demand. Builders working on kit cars, trucks, and street/strip projects wanted a platform that could handle serious power without requiring extreme modifications. Ferrea’s goal was to provide a robust, versatile, and affordable solution for Godzilla engines, delivering strong performance while keeping costs reasonable compared to more complex platforms like the Coyote.
The Godzilla heads flow well right out of the box, making it easy to make substantial power even with minimal porting. Ferrea thinks the Coyote will continue to be a powerhouse, but the Godzilla is its own “big block Ford” platform: simpler, easier to work on, and more than capable of handling modern performance builds. One customer using the Competition Plus Godzilla kit reportedly achieved 600 horsepower naturally aspirated and reliably with great fuel economy, showcasing the potential of the platform for a wide range of builds.
Looking ahead, Ferrea is rolling out valve guides and seals to complement the Godzilla valvetrain, rounding out a package designed for durability and performance. With its Competition Plus series, Ferrea has delivered a well-rounded, high-performance solution for Godzilla builders, giving them a cost-effective and reliable option for turbo, nitrous, and naturally aspirated applications alike.
The response at the PRI Show is that the Godzilla platform is gaining traction, offering an exciting alternative for Ford enthusiasts looking for big power without the complexity of other modern engines.
