Many engine builders and manufacturers of performance parts exhibiting at the PRI Show in Indianapolis showcased their products in stunning fashion, either on a stand-alone engine or with highly stylized bullet under the hood of a race or show car.
There were hundreds of engines on display through the convention center, and narrowing down the field to just 50 is quite the chore, but an enjoyable one. Of course, the LS platform is dominating the action; however, we culled down the choice with a variety of engine types — even a single-cylinder garden tractor engine. You’ll find carbs, different types of fuel injection, superchargers, turbochargers and an occasional shot of nitrous. We got V12, V10, V8 and 4-cylinder. Yeah, come to think of it…we didn’t find a V6 we liked. There’s gas, methanol and diesel. Parts were chromed, polished, wrapped, powdercoated, annodized, painted and sometimes left unfinished.
