Two of the most important systems in an engine are the oiling and cooling systems. Without a robust oiling system, your engine will not be long for this world, as improper or insufficient lubrication will eventually lead to failure — usually in a fairly catastrophic manner. Your cooling system is similarly important, as without a method of sufficiently removing heat from your system, you’ll be lucky if all that is affected is engine performance. Unchecked, at a certain point, elevated engine temperatures can cause excessive thinning and breakdown of oil, and lead to the aforementioned catastrophic engine failure. Luckily, Canton Racing Products focuses on both of those systems

As you’ve seen, we’re using Canton products on Project LS5.0, and once the engine goes into a car, we’ll likely be partnering with them to design a coolant expansion and recovery system for the platform, which we’ll reveal more of further down the road. The Canton road race oil pan is fitted to LS5.0 in order to not just contain the oil, but to help control windage, which is no small task at 8,000 rpm.
