IMIS 2012: New LS Pistons From Probe Industries

In this day and age of the car hobby, cost is of the utmost consideration when a consumer looks to purchase aftermarket parts, and the ultimate goal of any manufacturer should be on delivering great value and minimal additional cost to their customer. California-based Probe Industries has recognized this need and made it a reality with their latest GM LS piston offering, maintaining a 6.125-inch rod length setup across the board for the 3.902, 4.000, 4.030, and 4.070-inch pistons that comprise this brand new lineup. The 2618 Alloy pistons are also available in 3.622, 4.00, and 4.125-inch stroke varieties, as well.

Intended for race and high performance street applications, these LS pistons come in a flat top or reverse dome design and work with any of the factory or factory-style LS cylinder heads, with features including extra deep valve pockets and various dish depths, drilled pin oilers that force more oil onto the pin for added longevity and performance.

We’ve designed this entire lineup around utilizing the same rod length, and we can create a piston around anything that someone can come up with using that 6.125 rod length. – Tim Lyons

Said Probe’s Tim Lyons: “We’ve designed this entire lineup around utilizing the same rod length, and we can create a piston around anything that someone can come up with using that 6.125 rod length. The market is very tough today, and we wanted to keep this product priced as attractive as possible, we think it takes a lot of abuse for the price.”

If you’re building a high performance LS motor or overhauling your factory mill for improved performance or power adding, these pistons from Probe Industries will deliver exactly what you need at an exceptional price point. Launched this fall, the pistons have been on the shelf and available to the market for about three weeks.
