Modern GM engines make everything from classics to hot rods to muscle cars, better. The latest iteration of GM’s superstar mill is the LT series, and if you’re trying to transplant one into first-gen F-bodies and their related stablemates, read on. We stopped by the Hedman Hedders booth in the Central Hall at the SEMA Show. There, we talked with rep Marty Dunkerly, and he filled us in on all the details of this exciting new set of F-body headers.
“Our new long-tube LT-swap headers fit 1967 through 1969 GM F-body (Camaro, Firebird) and 1968 through 1974 GM X-body cars (Chevy Nova, Pontiac Ventura, Buick Apollo). They’re built using 304 stainless-steel flanges, primary tubes, and collectors. They have smooth-flowing, 1-7/8-inch-diameter, CNC mandrel bent tubes that are hand-welded by our guys to ensure each pair is identical to the next.”
Dunkerly continues, “The stout 3/8-inch header flanges ensure a great seal that will resist warping, and the high-flow 3-inch race collectors ensure unimpeded exhaust flow for maximum performance. We also back our headers with a one-year warranty.”
