Lingenfelter 700 Horsepower Supercharger For C8 Convertible

The team at Lingenfelter Performance Engineering (LPE) is proud to introduce its new supercharger package for the Corvette C8 convertible. LPE announced a supercharger package for the Corvette C8 coupe at the 2021 SEMA show. The new kit was specifically designed for the space constraints of the convertible and now allows owners of both the pop-top and retractable hard-top Corvettes a significant upgrade in performance.

You can feast your eyes on this Lingenfelter Performance Engineering supercharged C8 convertible Corvette this weekend at the Detroit Auto Show.

This new supercharger kit for convertible C8s uses the same TVS 2650 supercharger system developed for the C8 coupe. As such, the kit produces an incredible 700 horsepower and 675 lb-ft of torque in both coupe and convertible models. Lingenfelter spent over a year engineering, testing, and dyno validation to bring reliable, safe performance to this level.

A special supercharger kit was engineered to work with the retractable hardtop's space requirements and retains all of the factory components and features.

At the heart of the kit is a Lingenfelter-specific Magnuson TVS2650 C8 Corvette Magnum DI intercooled supercharger which is designed to produce 6lbs of boost. The kit also features a unique heat exchanger system utilizing air passing under the car and through the side air intakes. This system includes a 1.5-gallon, self-purging coolant reservoir tank and pump to circulate the coolant.

Lingenfelter and Magnuson worked together on the patent-pending supercharger drive system to retain the factory belt line, stock location of the dry sump, oil components, bulkhead connections, and electrical component placement. A Lingenfelter-prepped LT5 95mm throttle body is attached to the supercharger to allow better airflow and connects directly to the stock air intake system for factory-style airflow management.

The LPE supercharger kit for both coupe and convertible is integrated into the factory C8’s control systems via Lingenfelter Performance Engineering’s advanced, programmable system control module. The LPE module manages map or boost pressure, mass airflow, ignition timing, and throttle position communication with the C8’s factory ECM.

Lingenfelter Performance Engineering is announcing its C8 convertible supercharger kit during the Detroit Auto Show, being held from September 14 – 25, 2022. The C8 Corvette Coupe system will be available for installation on October 1, 2022, with the C8 convertible kits to be released in January of next year. The Lingenfelter C8 supercharger system requires professional installation, and electronics are not sold independently of the LPE supercharger system.
