Plasma Ductile Ring Sets

Hastings Plasma Ductile piston rings are ideal for daily drivers, light-duty trucks, and mildly modified performance engines. The ductile iron top rings have either a plasma-moly coating or a chrome-plated face. Plasma-moly is extremely scuff-resistant and provides excellent oil retention, while chrome prevents contaminants from embedding in the ring, making them ideal for engines that operate in dirty, dusty conditions.

Hastings Plasma Ductile Piston Ring Sets also include phosphate-coated secondary rings and chrome-faced carbon steel oil control rings. They are available in standard and many bore oversizes.

Steel Series Performance Ring Sets

Hastings Steel Series Performance ring sets are made for high performance and race engines. The top and secondary rings are thinner and lighter to help decrease reciprocating mass. They are perfect for late-model engines with pistons that have a short compression height. Other features include:

  • Alloy steel top rings available with plasma-moly coating or chrome facing
  • Secondary rings are torsional reverse-twist taper cast iron for better seating or Napier-faced ductile iron for improved oil control
  • Chrome-plated Flex-Vent oil rings with steel rails and a 201 stainless steel expander

Claimer Moly Series Performance Piston Ring Sets

Claimer Moly Series Performance ring sets are an affordable choice for sportsman circle track and drag bracket racers. The cast iron top rings have a plasma-moly coating for excellent wear resistance and oil retention, plus a torsional positive twist for improved ring-to-cylinder wall sealing. The secondary rings have a torsional reverse-twist taper face for improved sealing and oil scraping of the cylinder bores. Completing the set are Hastings Flex-Vent oil rings that minimize friction, improve flexibility, and provide high-RPM oil control.

Summit Racing also carries Hastings standard piston ring sets with cast iron top and secondary rings and chrome-plated carbon steel oil control rings. That makes them a great choice for a re-ring job on street engines suffering from excessive oil consumption and loss of power.
