SEMA 2019: Performance Distributors Shows Off Three Hot New Products

Somewhere on the list of stops we made during the wild week of SEMA was Performance Distributors. We stopped by to hear all about three new products being introduced just in time for 2020, and we thought we would share the news.

First on the list was an item designed for the 3.6-liter Pentastar V6, and it’s a new coil called the Sultans of Spark. Otherwise known as SOS coils, the voltage for each coil increases from the stock 25,000 volts to 35,000 volts under load, thanks to enhanced windings. This translates to increased spark intensity and a more complete burn of the fuel mixture.

Secondly, Brian Curruth of Performance Distributors walked us through the HEI Rev Limiting Module, which works with any engine build, and has a range of 5,000 to 9,500 rpm. It was created to keep just about any application from “sending it through the hood,” as Brian said. Another point he was sure to touch on was the product’s longevity and durability. No reason to worry about finding a replacement at the track!

Finally, we chatted about the Dual Power Distributor for small-block and big-block Chevys. It was designed for those who have issues with large-cap distributor clearance. It features an internal module similar to the HEI, but it is also a small-diameter unit with external power. Along with the fact that its dual power also makes tuning easy, Brian told us that Performance Distributors will set the advance for each customer. All that’s needed is engine specs!
