We all know the old saying that goes, “Don’t bring a knife to a gunfight.” With that in mind, if you want to bring a big gun to a showdown and be confident the odds are in your favor, then take a look at the GUNSLINGER LS short-block from Texas Speed and Performance (TSP).
Texas Speed has made quite the name for itself, offering quick delivery of high horsepower engine packages such as the GUNSLINGER LS3 short block shown here. As part of the Brawler Series of engine packages, it can be ordered with a variety of options.
The Georgetown, Texas, based engine shop has built a reputation for producing reliable, high-performance LS engine packages that make all the power you could ever want. Better still, you can get a Texas Speed and Performance engine package in whatever level of assembly that suits you, from short-blocks to turn-key.
At the PRI show this year, Texas Speed displayed the GUNSLINGER LS short-block with a few additional parts to showcase what is possible using this killer package. The foundation of this gunfighter is an aluminum 6.2L LS block from GM that is honed to a bore dimension of 4.070 inches. Texas Speed then installs one of its forged crankshafts with a 4.000-inch stroke, making it 416 cubic inches.
The Texas Speed parts don’t stop there. TSP forged 4340 steel Super H-Beam connecting rods measuring 6.125 inches are hung from the crankshaft, and a set of TSP/Wiseco pistons are installed in each cylinder. The pistons can be ordered with either a -3 cc or -11 cc dish on them as well. ARP hardware is used for the connecting rod bolts and the main studs.
The ICT Billet valley cover and TSP Titan intake add some bling and performance to this GUNSLINGER package.
The display featured an ICT Billet valley cover and one of TSP’s Titan intake manifolds with a billet aluminum intercooler brick installed between the upper and lower halves. Suppose boost isn’t your thing, and you prefer the giggle gas. In that case, you can get your GUNSLINGER outfitted with a TSP Titan intake and the all-new billet Nitrous Outlet plate explicitly made to install between the upper and lower intake halves.

According to TSP, the GUNSLINGER is capable of 1,000 horsepower, and you can order it as is in short block form, or you can easily add cylinder heads and an intake manifold with a call or email to the TSP sales team.
