It didn’t take long walking around move-in day the 49th annual SEMA Show that we did our first double-take under a hood. How about a snare-drum air cleaner? Hey, it’s chrome!
Welcome to Las Vegas in November. About 140,000 people are expected to attend the four-day event at the Convention Center to view products from more than 2,400 exhibitors.
There are 2.5 million square-feet to cover, but EngineLabs will cut through all the air fresheners, miracle additives, and silly receiver-hitch figures to bring you the hottest engine parts and interviews with as many engine builders and product designers as we can pull aside from their booths.
Expect a lot of news. Just walking around we found a big crowd around a new EFI offering from Holley, and we spotted a menacing looking cross-ram for an LS3 in the Edelbrock booth. Of course, there’s always news when it comes to boost, so we’ll visit turbo and supercharger companies, too. We might run into some celebrities. Here’s a shot of the engine from the Street Outlaws Farm Truck.
One of EL’s most popular features from the SEMA Show is the Top Engine review where we showcase 50 to 75 engines found in and out of cars. Expect that photo gallery sometime Wednesday. Here’s a look back at the 2014 and 2013 editions!
We are headed to a Chevy media preview later tonight where more details should be revealed on the new ZZ6 crate engine. Then, we’ll cover a special seminar on the future of motorsports to ask about the future of engine builders.
Be sure to check back often to see reviews on the latest products and all of EL’s feature coverage.
