PRI 2019: Manley Performance Adds New Pistons To Platinum Series

For 2019, Manley Performance rolled out a wide array of applications for its Platinum Series piston line. With everything from domestic to imports applications, they have a piston to fit your needs. The Platinum Series piston offers many options depending on your request. Some of these offerings include offset wrist pin design, cam and barrel profiles for big power, skirt coatings, wrist pin upgrades, and Total Seal piston rings.

New for 2019 is the addition of the Platinum Series LT1, LT4, and 5.3 direct-injected pistons. These units are made of 2618 alloy, which allows the piston to be both lightweight and high strength. They have been machined for reluctor wheel clearance and include a premium chrome moly offset wrist pins and round wire locks. These pistons can be ordered in a -4,-5,-10, and -11cc dish design with moly coated skirts.

In addition to the Chevrolet LT-series pistons, Manley also has new offerings for the Gen II and III Coyote platforms. These pistons, like the LT-series, are made out of a high-strength 2618 material that offers a perfect ring groove to skirt squareness. This product also utilizes an offset wrist pin design for quiet start-ups and moly-coated piston skirts. The Gen II pistons are available in either a -12cc dish, -2.5cc dish, or a 3.75cc dome configuration. The Gen III is available with a -6.00cc dish, +1.00cc dome, or a 6.75cc dome designs.

Manley also showed off some of their Turbo Tuff line that is specifically engineered for boosted applications. This series includes an increased deck thickness, vertical gas ports, increased mass below the pin, and pin piers machined to accept aluminum or steel rods. The Turbo Tuff line includes pistons for domestic and import engines. New for this year is the Nissan VR38DETT, RB26 and RB30, Mitsubishi 4G63 and 4B1, Toyota 2JZ, 4B11, and Subaru EJ25 engines.
