PRI 2014: Fuel Injector Clinic Helps Achieve a Healthy Fuel System

IMG_9905Fuel Injector Clinic is owned and staffed by automotive enthusiasts with more than 60 years combined experience who are dedicated to achieving excellence in the pursuit of higher horsepower, faster trap speeds, and lower lap times while maintaining reliability and drivability.

At this year’s PRI Show, we spoke with Bryan Troll at Fuel Injector Clinic (FIC) who said, “We have eleven different injectors based on varying sizes and flow rates. We do offer a service where we modify factory injectors for our clients, but not all factory injectors are able to be modified, and this is only a small portion of our business as most prefer to upgrade to our own products.”

As far as new products are concerned, Troll mentioned, “Our new 1650 injectors are safe for all fuel types.” There were few injectors sized between 1000cc and 2000cc currently on the market – and that is a big range as far as tuning goes. The 1650 represents a great median between those sizes. The 1650 is also a very useful injector size for those looking to convert their higher power vehicle to run on E85.

For the average weekend racer, E85 is a great option. You do need about 25-percent more fuel to make the same hp as gasoline will. However, several folks have started using about a 50-percent higher volume injectors to make more serious power, as E85 has an octane equivalent of about 105, as well as the cooling abilities associated with an alcohol.

For those looking for more juice whether it be from gasoline or ethanol, FIC can steer you in the right direction.
