IMIS 2012: World Products’ New Raised Cam SBC Engine Block

PBM Performance Products
, a supplier of hardcore performance products to engine builders the world over, recently acquired the highly-visible World Products brand that boasts one of the strongest lineups of engine blocks and cylinder heads anywhere on the market. The addition added a new dimension to the PBM Performance Group, that also includes Erson Cams, allowing the company even more ties to the racing engine marketplace.

PBM brought out several of their engine blocks to showcase at IMIS, including this killer little Small Block Chevrolet piece, sporting raised cam bores, .904 lifters, a nine-inch deck height, and the capability to pair it with a large four-inch stroke crankshaft. The raised cam bore, one of the highlights of this block, has roller bearing cam tunnels and utilizes 1.100-inch bore circle camshafts. The main caps are available in either nodular steel or billet, and it also has bushed lifter bores straight out of the box, leaving you or your engine builder with one less job to do and expense to factor.

“One of the other great features of this block as well is that it will fit a standard Small Block Chevy oil pan, meaning customers don’t have to go out and buy an expensive, high-end oil pan in order to use it,” explains PBM Performance Group’s Dick Boyer.

This block, with its feature set, is perfect for high end street builds or entry level drag racing applications. During our chat with Boyer, he indicated that PBM also has a new engine block targeted at the drag racing market in the pipeline, which should be available in the first quarter of next year.
