Well this is it! We’ve locked-in two of the teams that will be coming to California for the Horsepower Wars $10K Drag Shootout: Russ Wullenwaber, grudge racing star Jay Boddie and the Team Boddie/Dow Brothers Race Cars squad hailing from the Golden State, and Ohio’s flamboyant “Disco Dean” Karns and his Stinky Pinky Racing team. With that, only one spot remains, with three teams still in the running.

As we revealed a couple of weeks back, the third and final spot in the $10K Drag Shootout will be determined solely by popular vote, and with three stellar teams on the ballot, there’s no telling who will win. But that’s up to you — and the masses — to decide!

Those teams include Team Bigun, headed up by Eric Yost and driver Lyle Barnett, coming from North Carolina, Brad Riekoff and his crew from West Bend Dyno Tuning in Wisconsin, and small-tire drag racing legend Dwayne “Big Daddy” Gutridge and his Dirty Jersey team from New Jersey. With such a talented collection of teams, it’s a shame any of them have to be left out, but two of them gotta’ go!

Voting opens today and runs through May 29 at 11:59 p.m. PT, at which time we’ll announce the final team that will take on Karns, Boddie, and the soon-to-be-announced Dream Team presented by Comp Cams at the build-off in July. Rest assured, no matter which of the three teams YOU decide, the $10K Drag Shootout is going to be a wild affair, from the build itself right up to the race-off at the Shakedown at the Summit at Norwalk, Ohio in September!
