Turbosmart Working to Combat Known Counterfeiters

Money is the root of all evil. Counterfeiting is theft, pure and simple, and anyone who tells you otherwise should be strung up by the ankles and beaten within an inch of their life. In the performance industry, counterfeit products are becoming more and more available, no thanks to companies who do nothing but copy the hard work of another in a shameless attempt to make money.

DSC_9793Turbosmart is working hard to battle those counterfeiters that are faking the high quality boost-control products that the company has become known for manufacturing. They first noticed the appearance of these counterfeit parts several years back, and have been taking steps to get those products off the market and make their customers aware of the potential issues ever since.

These products typically show up on “auction” sites in search of consumers looking to save substantial money. The reality is that when looking for performance parts like the ones manufactured by Turbosmart, the price is typically the same within a few dollars regardless of where you buy the product, and any seller offering “new” merchandise for substantially less money than you’d find elsewhere may have an ulterior motive.

The company offers a few reminders for consumers looking to purchase their products.

  • Turbosmart products are all manufactured in Australia. If an online listing indicates otherwise, it is a counterfeit.
  • Turbosmart does NOT subcontract work to anywhere else in the world. Any ad or email that says the seller “manufactures for Turbosmart” is DEFINITELY selling fakes.
  • The only surefire way to make sure you get authentic product is to only buy from authorized dealers. If you’re not sure a dealer is authorized, feel free to shoot us an email to ask!
  • Neither Turbosmart, nor our authorized dealers sell on Chinese manufacturer direct sites, such as AliBaba.com, or TaiBao.com.
  • Lastly, and as always, bear in mind that any deal that seems too good to be true, usually is.

The company has a large list of confirmed counterfeit sellers on their website, so check it out before you click the buy button.
