Speed-Pro Releases Pro-Metric Line Of Performance Piston Rings

New from Speed-Pro – the Pro-Metric Line of Performance Piston Rings. These rings help to increase power by reducing rotating mass and cylinder wall drag. See more details below.

Official Release:

Federal-Mogul Motorparts has introduced a broad new series of Speed-Pro metric-sized piston rings that help enhance the power and performance of oval track and drag racing engines by reducing rotating mass and cylinder wall drag. New Speed-Pro Pro-Metric piston rings build on the brand’s heritage of delivering leading-edge ring technologies through the use of the latest materials and patented designs ideally suited to the extreme demands of high-output racing engines.

Comprising more than 70 part numbers, the new Pro-Metric series includes 1.2 x 1.2 x 3.0mm, 1.2 x 1.5 x 3.0mm and 1.5 x 1.5 x 3.0mm ring pack configurations covering an extensive range of Chevrolet LS, Dodge Hemi and small-block Ford racing engines. Each set features lightweight, high-strength stainless steel nitride or steel plasma-moly top ring; ductile iron second ring with Napier groove; and three-piece, patented curved-vent design oil ring with chrome rails. Sets are available in both conventional and file-fit designs.

“These new ring sets meet the demands of engine builders who are looking for ways to reduce rotating mass and parasitic drag while ensuring outstanding sealing performance,” said Ron Rotunno, racing and performance product manager for Federal-Mogul Motorparts. “The Pro-Metric series is designed specifically to leverage potential opportunities to optimize the power of modern muscle car engines, which represent the fastest growing segment of the performance market.”

The patented curved-vent design featured in Pro-Metric series oil rings offers outstanding oil control by maintaining consistent pressure and providing uniform tension in today’s ultra-high-output racing engines. The rings’ corrosion-resistant surface ensures excellent durability under the most challenging operating conditions.

Features:

  • Reduces rotating mass and cylinder wall drag
  • Covers an extensive range of engines
  • Available in both conventional and file-fit designs
