A collaboration between Mahle Original, Mahle Motorsport North America, Clevite, and Petty’s Garage has the foursome of well-known automotive companies partnered to create the Drive With The Original promotion. The prize is a 1,000-horsepower, twin-turbocharged Ford Mustang, assembled by Petty’s Garage in its North Carolina location.

With such serious horsepower on tap, the decision was made to beef up the 5.0-liter Coyote engine’s internals, using a complete assortment of components from all three brands under the Mahle umbrella. Custom Mahle Motorsports forged pistons constructed from 2618 alloy are onboard, with connecting rods and crankshaft riding in coated Clevite engine bearings. The company also placed their tempered, stainless-steel multi-layer head gaskets atop the deck to seal in the extreme cylinder pressures generated by the twin turbochargers.

“I was able to visit Petty’s Garage and see firsthand how their team of technicians have worked so hard on putting this incredible machine together,” said Jon Douglas, President of Mahle Aftermarket Inc. “We are proud, and extremely excited at the same time, that the engine for this beast will be generating phenomenal horsepower thanks to the quality and reliability of Mahle components.”

The “Drive with the Original” promotion runs through October 1, 2017. Four finalists will be randomly selected from all entries to receive an all-expense paid trip for two to the 2017 Automotive Aftermarket Product Expo (AAPEX) in Las Vegas, taking place from October 31 to November 2, 2017. The “Original”, Richard Petty, will be present when the finalists select a key fob, one of which will start the engine of the customized, twin-turbo 1,000 HP Grand Prize MAHLE Ford Mustang from Petty’s Garage.

The Grand Prize is not the only one up for grabs, though. There are also over 2,400 instant prizes available in the virtual slot machine at the signup link below, including Richard Petty Driving Experiences, autographed Richard Petty signature Charlie 1 Horse cowboy hats and autographed #43 die-cast model cars.
