The Lazareth LM 847 is an outlandish quad-wheel motorcycle that has the heartbeat of a 470 hp Maserati-based F136 4.7 stuffed into the frame, and is the brainchild of French automotive designer Ludovic Lazareth. It joins the ranks of off-the-wall motorbikes that have rolled out his Annecy, France shop, including a snowmobile/R1 cross-breed; dubbed the Wazuma Snow.
After being debuted at the Genève International Auto Show, the LM 847 captivated the worlds attention with its devilish design as it combines principles of motorcycle and quad-bike into a hybrid. If the TFX Suspension designed steering and suspension system, Brembo 4-piston brake setup, and single-speed viscous clutch automatic transmission doesn’t pique your interest the rumble of the a Italian V8 most certainly will.
The 4,691 cc displacement engine that is utilized in this extravagant build isn’t a one-off piece, as it may appear. The F136 engine is the result of a joint endeavor between Ferrari and Maserati, that was eventually produced by Ferrari. Coming in a wide range of configurations and displacements, this engine has powered some of the supercars coming out of the Fiat group; with the Maserati Quattroporte GTS, Alfa Romeo 8C Competition, and Ferrari California being some of the automobiles to be graced by this engine.
The engine, commonly known as the Ferrari-Maserati engine, is a dual overhead masterpiece with the added bonus of variable valve timing. Ferrari’s rendering of this natural aspirated powerhouse utilizes a direct injected flat-plane crank design, pumping out an impressive 597 hp, and is the beast hidden inside a 2013 458 Italia. The Maserati version is a bit more tame, well as tame as a Italian V8s can be, pumping out an impressive 454 hp, despite being a cross-plane designed engine.
There is no doubt that this work of art is designed to be the centerpiece of any collectors showroom. Tell us what you think of this outrageous French automotive masterpiece in the comment section below.
