AFR – Air Flow Research – trundled out some great new product at SEMA 2016 and we stopped by their display and talked to sales rep Rob Wood who gave us the 4-1-1 on the new products they’ve got cooked up.
“New from AFR is our modular, composite, Titon two-piece manifold for Gen 1 Chevy small-blocks as well as the company’s Dominator plenum to go with it. We currently have a dual plane, shallow plane and high rise plane intakes for 4150 carb flanges, and now the big boy Dominator joins the lineup. We’ll also introduce AFR’s new cylinder heads for LS3 motors by May, 2017, so keep your eyes peeled for that…”
In the meantime, if you aren’t familiar with AFR’s cylinder heads, they’re offered in three flavors:
Street Cylinder Heads
AFR offers a complete selection of street cylinder heads for Small-Block Chevy and Small-Block Ford engines. Whatever your application, emissions legal, street/strip trophy machine, or off-road stump puller, AFR has the perfect cylinder head for your ride. Street Heads are shipped completely assembled with 100% CNC ported intake runners, exhaust runners and combustion chambers.
Race Ready Cylinder Heads
AFR Race Ready Cylinder heads offer outstanding performance on the track at a reasonable cost. Typically, Race Ready Heads give you 100% CNC ported exhaust runners, combustion chambers and intake runners with coarser machine levels than the competition package to provide terrific flow characteristics for big power gains. Of course, Race Ready Heads come complete and ready to run with AFR’s proven components for maximum reliability.
Competition Package Cylinder Heads
AFR Competition Package Cylinder heads provide the next step up in power production for just a few extra dollars. In the Competition Heads, intake ports, exhaust ports and combustion chambers are all 100% CNC ported with finer machine levels and improved port shape details over the race ready for flow characteristics that can give the power you need to win. Competition Package Heads come complete and ready to run with AFR’s proven components for maximum power and reliability.
