Power management is critical when you are trying to put the maximum horsepower potential of your combination to the ground. There are many different ways to keep things under control, and having some form of traction control helps. Haltech Engine Management Systems has released their Elite 2500T ECU, and it’s a robust unit that has a built in torque management feature that will assist racers in putting the power to the track.
The Haltech Elite 2500T is a new version of their 2500 series ECU where the T stands for torque managment. Chris Law from Haltech explains just how this new torque management system works. “The torque management is based on driveshaft speed versus race time, load, or other variables. The most common use is versus race time. You can set your driveshaft curve to a specific speed, and if you exceed that speed the ECU will actually pull power via dropping ignition events or percentage cut. It comes down to how the user wants to set it and it’s very customizable that way. “
Haltech recommends that you use an individual ignition coil setup with the 2500T to get the best results. The unit will work with any ignition setup including MSD boxes, or Pro Mag units without any issues. If you’re worried about wiring the 2500T into your car, don’t fret because Haltech has you covered there too. “Racers can use one of our terminated harness that has pre-terminated ends, and wire lengths based on the engine they are using. We also offer universal harnesses that have all eight-foot long leads, and the racer can terminate where they need to,” Law explains.
If you’re looking for an advanced ECU the Haltech 2500T is available now, and you can find more out about this great ECU on Haltech’s website.
