PRI 2015: Nornda Automotive’s Big Three Show Off Performance At PRI

Rollmaster Performance Products’ LS1 timing set.

Nornda Automotive, the 40-year performance parts company, is currently represented by three major brands: JP Performance, Romac Performance Products, and Rollmaster Performance Products.

“As Nornda’s business has grown and the OEM market has shrunk in Australia, We have focused more on aftermarket,” said Marty Staggs. “Our specialty is the absolute highest quality timing sets on the planet.”

Not holding back, Marty explained Romac Performance Part’s harmonic balancer line. “These harmonic balancers are extremely high-performance and all made in Australia. Not rebranded off-shore products,” he stated.

“We’ve put a lot of focus on new product development in Romac the past couple of years. We’ve got balancers for LS applications, Coyote 5.0, and the 5.4 and 5.8 modular. There’s something for everyone, including your more traditional, old school 350 small-blocks, 351 Windsors, and Hemis. We are one of the few companies that makes high-performance balancers for a 392 Hemi.”

Staggs show us their new eight ribbed balancer for the Coyote engines. “Guys are starting to put superchargers on them,” Staggs said. “When you put a supercharger on the factory system, that belt can slip. So, we made a balancer that is eight ribbed to prevent that. It is specifically made for that motor and that application.”

He quickly pointed out that all the balancers are SFI-certified and there is no extra charge for that. Another key feature of the new eight ribbed balancer is that it is modular designed. “You can change the outside ring with the hub still on the car. you don’t have to buy a new balancer,” Staggs pointed out.

When it came time to discuss the timing chains, Staggs proudly exclaimed: “These are the absolute highest quality timing sets on the planet. Rollmaster has exclusivity on chains that are made only for them. They are the strongest chains made. Period.”

According to Staggs, the chains are made for Rollmaster by Iwis in Germany, a company that is respected for its chain products.

“The LS timing sets are the most popular, by a long shot,” claims Staggs. “As are the 5.4 adjustable JP Performance timing sets. It adjusts four different ways to phase in the intake cams and exhaust cams independently to dial it in perfectly. Only your high-end engine builders would understand or appreciate that, but that is an extremely valuable tool for them,” he said.
